In celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Human Resources Office is pleased to host a lunchtime sharing session featuring Adekunbi Salako (African Prince) and Zoe Sung.
Adekunbi Salako is a content creator known for sharing his cross-cultural experiences and reflections on studying and living in Hong Kong from an African perspective. Through storytelling and personal reflections, the speakers will share experiences of adapting to a new cultural environment, navigating cultural differences in daily life and the workplace, and building meaningful connections across cultures.
This session provides an opportunity for colleagues to learn more about African cultural perspectives while reflecting on how greater awareness, empathy and open dialogue can help foster a more inclusive and respectful campus community.
Objectives
- To enhance cultural awareness by introducing perspectives on African culture and experiences of adapting to life in Hong Kong.
- To promote cross-cultural understanding and communication through the sharing of personal stories and reflections on identity, stereotypes and belonging.
- To promote racial inclusion in workplace/on campus by encouraging dialogue, empathy and mutual respect among colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
